Subject: Easy divorce... Posted: Wednesday, December 4, 2013 - 10:28:16

Long story short, I committed adultery. Wife and myself are now separated. Our relationship post-separation is ok or was up until recently. I have full access to the kids (16 and 13) whenever I want. Wife has decided to visit Solicitors and the proverbial is now about to hit the fan. What is the quickest, easiest and cheapest way of me letting this divorce go through. I have no intention of contesting the grounds for divorce, nor of making a nuisance of myself. Am I able to, essentially, let it all crack on around me and just get it done with, without shelling out thousands on a Solicitor. What would be the dangers of me doing so? All help gratefully received.

The only danger you\'ll have is signing a document you don\'t understand Here is a site will explain lots and it is kept up to date:- http://www.divorceaid.co.uk Always ask if you don\'t understand. It won\'t hurt to have a feeling confirmed. It will hurt to agree to something which could cost you lots to correct later on.

You need to agree with her at some point what you will pay for the children and for her, if she doesn\'t earn very much and divide your current assets between you. It depends how much money is at stake as to whether it\'s worth spending a lot on lawyers. My ex and I both used lawyers (I paid for both sets as I earn more) but we used them in the background for advice, had no court hearings and agreed the finances between ourselves.
