Subject: Mention Hearing Posted: Wednesday, December 4, 2013 - 10:29:01

I have a letter from the Court giving a date for a Consent application hearing. My solicitor refused to sign the consent order as she felt it wasn`t in my best interests. Do I have to attend this Hearing, and if I do, can anyone tell me what to expect please? I am in not in good health - would I be able to take someone to support me. Thanks Ian

A consent order is where both parties have agreed on the financial side of the diviorce, it rather implies that you are satisfied with both parties Form E and that you have no questions for the other party. The hearing is thus a means of avoiding the FDR and Final Hearing. A McKenzie\'s friend is always welcome in the court. Indeed anybody is welcome unless the other side asks them to leave. It is your divorce, not the vulture\'s, what is it about the settlement that the vulture does not like, apart from the end of the vulture\'s fees ?
