Subject: Nisi - Absolute Time Limit? Posted: Wednesday, December 4, 2013 - 10:28:56

My home is still on the market after 16 months despite being reduced by 20% and it is very nearly a year since decree nisi. I understand that there is no time limit on the nisi and am hoping that someone can confirm that to me and also pass on any possible implications - especially as I now have a new partner with whom I\'m very keen to start a new life. I also understand that my house might soon be subject to a HIP - who would have to pay it (big house so may be 800+). Could the house be forced off the market if neither is willing or able to pay? Happy New Year to everyone :-)

You don\'t need a HIP if your house was on the market before they came into force, nor can you be forced to take it off the market in order to obtain a HIP. However, I believe there could be a problem if you decide to change your agent.
