Subject: Long time Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson amazed at Raider Nation turnout in Los Angeles Posted: Monday, November 5, 2018 - 02:32:35

For his entire 13-year career Authentic Derrick Johnson Jersey , Derrick Johnson has played just for the Chiefs. He knows the Chiefs fans pack Arrowhead for every home game and give the Chiefs a great home field advantage. Now he’s seeing how the other half lives. He’s seeing that Raider Nation isn’t confined to Oakland. Today, they showed the Raider Nation presence in Los Angeles is significant and it took the former Chief aback, according to teammate James Cowser.“Derrick Johnson was like ‘can you believe how many people are here?’,” said Cowser. “I was like ‘Dude, it’s like this every game. You’re gonna see, it’s gonna be incredible.’ You can just feel the energy when we do something right, that’s why you gotta love the Raiders, that’s why you gotta love Raider fans because they’re amazing.”Everywhere you looked it was Silver & Black. From the walk up to the stadium , to the parking lots, to the stands. Pre-game the Raiders players entered to cheers while the Rams players were jeered. Even the Rams cheerleaders were greeted with boos. And when the jumbotron asked “Who’s house?” the crowd responded loudly “RAIDERS!”This, of course, was the reaction during the game as well. To be fair, Los Angeles isn’t just any city for the Raiders. They made their home here for 13 years, so there are still a lot of fans in the area. They dominated Chargers games in San Diego and are even more dominant with the Chargers in LA.“It was awesome being back here,” said Jon Gruden. “If you understand the Raiders, they have a history here Womens Gabe Jackson Jersey , a championship history here. There’s still a lot of fans that remember those teams and rightfully so.”Though most Raiders players will tell you the Raider Nation earns its monicker for how well they travel. Derrick Johnson is learning that. Welcome to the Dark Side.Follow @LeviDamienBroncos take on major dead money as former Raiders OT Menelik Watson’s time in Denver ends after just seven games Despite having leaving behind $8.17 million in dead money, the Broncos are cutting ties with former Raiders tackle Menelik Watson. The team placed Watson on injured reserve today, the second time the injury prone tackle has landed on IR for the Broncos in less than ten months. They plan to release Watson once he gets healthy. It was just last year that the Broncos committed $18.75 million to Watson on a 3-year deal to become their right tackle. It seemed laughable at the time, and even more so now that the Broncos are taking over an eight million dollar bath for their mistake. This after having already paid him $3.27 million for his seven-game stint last season. That’s nearly $11.5 million for seven games. Great for Menelik, but ‘Ouch’ for the Broncos.Watson was the Raiders’ second round pick in the 2013 draft and from the moment he walked in the injuries began piling up.He started his first camp on the Non-football injury list and a week later went on the Physically Unable to Perform list and would ultimately miss all but five games of his rookie season.Over four years in Oakland he would never play a full 16 games including missing the entire 2015 season. Despite this, the Broncos invested big money into him. He appeared in just 7 games last season before heading to injured reserve. And even in those seven games, he didn’t perform well.I wish Watson all the best. And hopefully some other team will give him a shot and he can eventually put together some healthy seasons. But maybe don’t pull a John Elway and plunk down big money on a multi-year contract for a player who has never proven he can stay on the field long enough to earn it. Elway is as good with contracts as he is at evaluating quarterbacks.Follow @LeviDamien
