Subject: Consent Order - can it be ignored? Posted: Sunday, March 23, 2014 - 20:32:24
Hi I am new here and need advice on my Consent Order, which was agreed between myself and my ex seven years ago. We have two children aged 10 and 11, and we agreed a payment for them and a small amount of spousal for me.
Since then my ex has remarried, doesn't have any more children, and has gained success in that he has been promoted several times and now is a Director of his company. I have managed to increase my hours bit by bit over the years as the children have grown up and now work 34 hours a week at an average/low paid job. I haven't remarried and am still single.
His contact is minimal (once or twice a month max and rare over nights as he's 'too busy'). I have never asked for more money from him and don't intend to, but now he's saying he is going to reduce payments to me. Can he just do this and what are my options?
