Agreed. If birthday parties fall on his access time as they have done with us, I used to let him buy the present. But my daughter always said that there wasn\'t time when she was with her dad and got upset about it, so I send her with a present if he is taking her, although I still feel it should be his responsibility it saves stress for our daughter that way. As for trips he arranges, he should pay for that if he organises them, not you.

Maintenance is for you to spend on the child as you see fit. If he arranges extra things without your say so then he should foot the bill.
